It’s been a minute since Grammy winning accordionist Chubby Carrier and his Bayou Swamp Band have brought their highly danceable zydeco sound to the Gator By the Bay Stage, and we’re excited to welcome them back. The consummate entertainer, Chubby was raised in a family steeped in Louisiana Creole music. The son of the legendary musician Roy Carrier, Chubby began performing as a child in his dad’s band and later formed his own groups, carving out a reputation for high-energy zydeco that blends swampy grooves with infectious Cajun and blues influences. Carrier’s career spans decades of touring, recording, and electrifying festival audiences with an accordion style that’s both rootsy and dance-floor ready. As he always sings, “Ain’t no party like a Chubby party, cause a Chubby party don’t stop!”
